Hence the project, led by the Municipality under the impetus of Philippe Leonelli, to respond to contemporary challenges while preserving the soul and exceptional environment of the city. "Enchantons Cavalaire is a territory project that prepares the future of our city for decades, a territory project that represents the culmination of a collective vision for the Cavalaire of tomorrow."
This program is divided into two interconnected areas. First, the redevelopment of the port, then, the revitalization of the city center, two areas treated in perfect symbiosis thanks to a harmonized architectural approach," reveals the mayor. A WELCOMING TOWN ALL YEAR ROUND The mayor adds: "Our goal is to make the town attractive and welcoming all year round, to offer a modern and welcoming living environment for everyone and to propose an eco-responsible town and port focused on the future."
In detail for the city center, the project aims to develop an attractive and shaded market square to enjoy local products, a large modular performance hall, and an auditorium capable of hosting shows, concerts, and conferences all year round. Finally, the Town will build a media library to promote reading and access to culture.
On the other hand, the project is to redevelop the port into a modern site serving boaters. This will result in the construction of a unique, more modern and functional harbor basin, optimizing the mooring area and promoting more efficient management of spaces and navigation flows. The docks will be, in part, raised to adapt to climate change and mitigate the risk of marine submersion.
Finally, the Town will invest in a modern harbor master's office integrating administrative spaces and new services dedicated to boaters (Maison de la Plaisance). Furthermore, a redevelopment of the Patrice Martin quay and the right bank of the Castillane aims to improve the connections between the port and the beach. And the creation of a sales hall will provide fishermen with a structured space, facilitating the marketing of local fishery products.
AN INVITATION FOR A STROLL In line with the municipal policy led for several years by Philippe Leonelli, the Municipality is bringing nature into the town and onto the seafront.
"We are going to set up a vast pedestrian forecourt, decorated with a long path and a playground dedicated to children and leading to the market square. There will also be more intimate spaces inviting peace and quiet near the gourmet halls and green spaces behind the harbor master's office, offering resting spots under the canopy of pine and hackberry trees. We will, thus, plant 800 trees," the mayor further details.
Ultimately, the Town's goal is to establish pedestrian areas and transform the seaside resort into a gentler town. Thus, with nearly 800 meters of continuous promenade between La Castillane and the viewpoint, the future pedestrian pathway will offer an ideal setting for strolling along the seafront. A wonderful invitation for a walk for both summer visitors and residents.
Then, the redevelopment of the place du Casino and the avenue Charles de Gaulle will restore the full attractiveness of this structuring axis, a true link between the city center and the port. Finally, the project will implement a functional reorganization of the technical village, separating the uses, with a pedestrian access ramp to the viewpoint.
Access remains open to walkers who will be able to, for example, enjoy the solarium above the garages.
