Intermunicipal collaboration to protect forest massifs

On July 2, Thierry Albertini (La Valette-du-Var) and Ange Musso (Le Revest-les-Eaux) signed an intermunicipal cooperation agreement, in the presence of members of the Comités Communaux Feux de Forêt (CCFF) of each municipality. On the occasion of the signing of this agreement, the two elected officials emphasized: "It is a strong act of intermunicipal solidarity and environmental responsibility," and praised the involvement of the volunteers mobilized for the protection of forests. This initiative marks a new step in the collaboration between the two Municipalities during the summer season, a high-risk period for the Varois forest massifs.

In concrete terms, the agreement aims to strengthen the surveillance and protection of wooded areas located on the border of the two territories. CROSS-PATROLS This unprecedented partnership allows volunteers from the Réserves Communales de Sécurité Civile (RCSC) and the CCFF to patrol, under certain conditions, on both sides of the municipal boundaries. Interventions can include preventive surveillance, clearing doubts, or even a first rapid action in the event of a fire outbreak, all in strict compliance with civil security rules and under the responsibility of the mayors.

To frame this cooperation, a permanent mission order is planned, as well as ongoing training for volunteers. Special attention is also paid to their insurance and equipment, ensuring their safety and effectiveness in the field.

With this agreement, La Valette-du-Var and Le Revest-les-Eaux confirm their desire to strengthen the resilience of their territories to natural risks. The initiative is part of the Défense de la Forêt Contre les Incendies (DFCI) measures and responds to the current challenges of modernizing civil security.
