A regional health campus in Toulon

The State and the Région Sud commit to strengthening health and social training.

On July 17, on the occasion of the 10th graduation ceremony of the Institut de Formation Public Varois des Professions de Santé (IFPVPS), Renaud Muselier, president of the Région, and Yannick Neuder, minister of Health and Access to Care, signed a joint commitment to strengthen health and social training in Région Sud, in the presence of François de Canson, vice-president of the Région.

Renaud Muselier, president of the Région, declared: "Congratulations to all the graduates! Choosing care professions means showing courage, empathy and dedication. Training more, training better, training everywhere: this is our commitment to meet the challenge of local healthcare.

Thank you to Yannick Neuder, minister of Health and Access to Care, for his clear vision and his commitment alongside us. Thanks to this shared roadmap, we are ensuring concrete, accessible and high-quality training paths for young people, at the service of everyone's health."

In the presence of: • Train more, train better, train everywhere, a partnership to meet the increased needs for healthcare professionals. Faced with the increased need for healthcare professionals, the Région Sud and the State are committing together to guarantee access to high-quality training, rooted in the territories.

With, a new regional campus in Toulon. At the start of the 2025 school year, the training courses located in La Garde will be transferred to a new site in Montéty (downtown Toulon). This 8,000 m² building, constructed by Métropole TPM with €7.5 million in support from the Région, will offer modernized studying conditions and easier access to transport.

A partnership based on three pillars: • Maintaining training capacities in 2025, • Target of 20,000 students trained per year in Région Sud by 2028.

And, significant investments for training: With 91 institutes spread across the territory, the Région Sud already trains 19,300 students every year, in the professions of care and support.

In 2024, it devoted €144.4 million to this: • €113 million for the operation of the institutes, • €27.2 million for student aid, • €4.2 million for the modernization of the establishments.
