A successful road safety prevention event
On July 11 and 12, the Maison de la Sécurité Routière du Var (MSR) set up on the main square of Avenue 83 for awareness-raising initiatives.

During two intense days, in partnership with VINCI Autoroutes, the groupement de la gendarmerie and the police nationale, the speakers transformed the main square into an area dedicated to prevention and exchanges. This initiative was welcomed by visitors, tourists, and local residents alike, who came to discover the activities on offer. This temporary action aimed to remind everyone, both residents and holidaymakers, of the importance of caution on the road, particularly during the summer period when traffic intensifies and risky behavior multiplies. By setting up the road safety village in such a busy location, the Maison de la Sécurité Routière went out to meet citizens in their daily lives. On the agenda: driving simulators, alcohol impairment goggles, various workshops, quizzes, distribution of educational materials, as well as exchanges with visitors and discussions on the dangers of drink-driving, phone use, and narcotics. Specialized speakers from the gendarmerie and the police nationale were present to showcase the various types of equipment and answer numerous questions. This joint presence reinforced the impact of the prevention message, highlighting the essential role of law enforcement in road safety.
TESTIMONIALS

The volunteers of the MSR shared their practical, sometimes poignant testimonials. A way to raise awareness of the dangerous consequences of accidents. The directrice de cabinet de la préfecture du Var, who came on the first day of the setting up of the road safety village to show public authority support for this field action, visited every stand and spoke with the contributors. As the tourist season is in full swing, this field operation reminds us that every behavior counts. By focusing on proximity and interactivity, the MSR reached a wide audience. This action reminded everyone that they can contribute at their own level to saving lives. During the quizzes, hosted by Jérémy, head of the MSR, and Stéphanie Poiret, in charge of activities, each correct answer led to the awarding of prizes related to the theme and shopping vouchers offered by Avenue 83, a partner in the operation. A fun way to get essential messages across, while creating a real dynamic around the ephemeral road safety village. The message of these awareness-raising and prevention actions on the ground was clear: "road safety is everyone's business".
