An "Alzheimer-Friendly City" commitment charter

With this signature, the City commits to becoming an "Alzheimer-Friendly City", alongside the France Alzheimer association. This approach aims to better support people with Alzheimer's disease and their family caregivers, allowing them to continue fully experiencing the city. Yves Palmieri, the mayor, explains the City's approach: "Committed alongside France Alzheimer, the City has chosen to carry out activities, offered by the association, according to its means and resources. We wish to guarantee the regular inclusion of information about the disease and related disorders in the town hall's communication channels, namely the municipal magazine and information boards." The municipality's action will also take the form of deploying memory cafés or actions initiated by France Alzheimer. The City also commits to facilitating transport arrangements from home to the location of the activities. "The France Alzheimer Var team is alongside families affected by the disease or a related disorder to listen to them, help them, accompany them, support them, and offer them adapted activities," explains, for her part, Arlette Marrone, president of the France Alzheimer Var association. Furthermore, the Municipality's goal is to build an awareness and training project on Alzheimer's disease for shopkeepers, artisans, and bus drivers. The municipality will also launch an awareness campaign in schools during extracurricular time. Finally, the City will facilitate the participation of sick people or their family caregivers in artistic, cultural, or sporting activities.
