Ambassadeurs du Sport in the high schools of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur

The objective is also to promote the values of sport, in connection with hosting the 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in the French Alps. Designed by the Parlement Régional de la Jeunesse, the Ambassadeurs du Sport aim to raise awareness among their peers about the physical and mental benefits of sport.

OLYMPIC VALUES

“Here, in Région Sud, we trust our youth. Through the Ambassadeurs du Sport, we not only give them a voice, but also the means to act, so that they can take their full place in the Olympic adventure. They are the pride of our territory, and it is by investing in our youth that we will succeed in making the 2030 Games a unifying, sustainable, and ambitious project, reflecting our region,” declared Renaud Muselier, President of the Région Sud. For the Région, this initiative should encourage living together through the values of sport, link school and extracurricular sports activities, and facilitate access to sports infrastructure. The other objective is to promote parasports for students with disabilities and to promote inclusion in sport with the support of the establishments. Finally, the Ambassadeurs du Sport will highlight sports careers and promote the values of Olympism, namely respect, teamwork, and self-surpassing. To support the implementation of the projects, a reference teacher will be appointed by the participating establishment. The scheme is aimed at all public or private contract-bound educational institutions, CFA, and training centers in the health and social sectors of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. Each school will be able to appoint 2 to 5 ambassadors, for a one-year mandate, renewable twice. For the 2025/2026 school year, this initiative will be offered to 200 young people in the territory. The call for applications will be launched to schools in the fall, via the Région website.
