A sponsorship agreement with the Fondation du Patrimoine

EMBLEMATIC PROJECT

The Métropole and the Ville de Toulon and various local authorities have united to support this emblematic project. "There are no small or large donations, but only commitments to keep our heritage alive," stressed the Managing Director of the Fondation du Patrimoine. The fundraising campaign aims to mobilize the local, but also national, population for the restoration of this historic building, whose rich decorations deserve to be preserved. The rehabilitation project of the Opéra spans several months and requires a budget of €35 million. Among the six targeted operations are the restoration of the sculptures and gilding, but also that of the chandeliers, the marouflaged canvases of the putti, the painted decorations, the marouflaged canvas of the Duveau ceiling, and the armchairs. The amount eligible for sponsorship stands at €2,566,000. The Métropole has also launched a sponsorship initiative to encourage companies and individuals to support projects of general interest. By becoming a sponsor, contributors can benefit from significant tax advantages, of up to a 60% tax reduction for companies and 66% for individuals. The Fondation du Patrimoine, created in 1996, plays a key role in this initiative, mobilizing private resources to safeguard heritage not protected by the State. "We are fortunate to have exceptional art craftsmen in France, and this project is an opportunity to transmit these skills," added Alexandre Giuglaris. The Opéra de Toulon, built in 1862, is an emblematic building in the city center. Its rehabilitation aims to combine modernization and respect for history, while improving public reception and the environmental performance of the building.
