General Gesnot meets the gendarmerie's operational reserve

The visit began at the Service Réserve Jeunesse de La Valette-du-Var at the groupement de la gendarmerie départementale du Var where he was welcomed by Lieutenant-Colonel Stéphane Bontemps, second-in-command, as well as by Major Abdesalam Ben Hamouda, head of the SRJ of Var, his deputy, Adjutant Nicolas Moulin, and the reserve squadron leader, Adrien Pacini, assistant reserve advisor. After a presentation of the service, he spoke with the SRJ administrative team. Following a meeting, the day continued with a visit to several territorial units (Bormes-les-Mimosas - Le Lavandou, La Croix-Valmer and Puget-sur-Argens) which host pre-positioned operational reinforcements to meet the demands of the summer influx, reinforced by the marching companies. This presence illustrates the complementarity between active-duty personnel and reservists, whose reinforcement is essential to maintaining security in a department with high tourist appeal.
