The colors of Carmo illuminate the cellar of l’Anglade
The only wine estate in Le Lavandou, domaine de l’Anglade welcomes Maria de Carmo, known as Carmo, in its lush seaside setting until October 10.

This painter, of Portuguese origin, has lived in Le Lavandou with her family for 40 years. She presents, in the magnificent vaulted cellar, a collection of about twenty canvases with expressive shapes and vibrant colors that illuminate barrels and bottles using a palette knife technique. “Twenty years ago, it was by enrolling my daughter in the Atelier des Arts Plastiques du Lavandou that I fell into the brushes of creation. It must have been my destiny because it has never left me,” says the artist. Faced with her colorful creations, an emotion emerges, doubly felt through the authentic and intimate atmosphere of the venue. A poetic universe where creativity also rhymes with conviviality. Every year, at the initiative of independent winemakers PACA and Corse, an “Art et Vins” Festival brings together visual artists, painters, sculptors, and photographers from various backgrounds. During the summer, each estate or château in the region offers a cultural space to discover their works. The 2025 theme is (re)birth, metamorphosis, and (trans)figuration. •
