A town center designed for future generations!

Alongside Yves Palmieri, mayor of La Farlède, François de Canson, vice-president of the Région, municipal elected officials, partners and many residents, the ceremony officialized the launch of a major project for the future of the municipality. Thus, the mayor paid tribute to Doctor Raymond Abrines, honorary mayor, present during this official sequence. For Yves Palmieri, this work is much more than an urban planning project: "This project redesigns the heart of the town and embodies our vision for a sustainable, attractive town center adapted to the needs of future generations."

Indeed, as early as 2009, under the leadership of Raymond Abrines, the Municipalité initiated a global reflection to bring a new dynamic to the town center. The goal was to shape an attractive, friendly heart of the town adapted to the needs of the residents. A first phase, carried out between 2012 and 2016, already allowed the creation of a crèche, the renovation of the historic mill, the development of place de La Capelle and mail des Félibres, as well as the commissioning of an association hall and housing.

These are all facilities that have contributed to strengthening the vitality of the municipality.

BETWEEN TRADITION AND MODERNITY In the autumn of 2024, the second phase of the project aimed to connect avenue de la République to the Hôtel de Ville. It was part of an urban renewal approach combining modernity and respect for the existing landscape.

Among the future developments, there is also a multifunctional building including 30 housing units and 600 m² dedicated to medical and paramedical professions. In addition, the Ville plans a commercial and gastronomic space, with food halls and a panoramic rooftop restaurant. Finally, the elected officials will have a landscaped mall and a new marketplace built, also hosting a Provençal playing field, the weekly market and various festivities.

The project also includes the creation of new parking spaces, including a 40-space car park, the redevelopment of avenue de la République, with a forecourt in front of the church, plantings and a repositioned traffic light to secure movements, a new pedestrian connection linking schools to the car park, enhanced by a square on the site of former disused buildings.

This project is supported by several institutional partners. Finally, these developments, designed with respect for the environment, will notably integrate permeable surfaces and optimized rainwater management.
