A day of solidarity under the sign of sport and sharing

Lions Club La Londe - Porte des Maures made its return with plenty of projects. Thus, it organized a golf tournament for the benefit of the association "Enfants, cancer et santé", which works for research on pediatric cancers. "This competition, which brought together nearly 120 enthusiasts, aimed to support two causes: the association 'Enfants, cancer santé' and the Journée Emmanuel Vitria – Handicap, un autre regard. 18 partners, one per hole, mobilized to make this day an event that was sporty, festive, and generous all at once. The final cocktail, accompanied by wines from partner winemakers, closed this edition in a friendly and warm atmosphere," welcomed François de Canson on the occasion of the prize-giving. Marie-Hélène Barbaroux, commercial director of Domaine des Myrtes, explains the winemakers' approach: "For several years, we have been partners in the golf competition organized by Lions Club de La Londe in favor of the 'Enfants, cancer et santé' association. It is close to our hearts to participate in this event by offering prizes for the winners and a tasting after the awards ceremony, with our friends from château La Valetanne, château Maravenne, domaine de Tamary, and the cave coopérative de La Londe. We are all united to help research on childhood cancers and to give hope to families; it is very important for us to be present every year for this noble cause." For the Lions, this day was also an opportunity to recall the next major events of its charitable actions, notably the sale of yellow roses for the support of people affected by Alzheimer's, at Intermarché, on September 20, as well as the major "Journée Emmanuel Vitria, Handicap un autre regard", in February 2026. And, on March 27, 28, and 29, 2026, the Lions will organize its first Salon des Vins des Saveurs in La Londe. Finally, by the end of the year, the Lions is preparing a new initiative, launched in partnership with CCAS de La Londe. The Lions SOS box, which allows vital information to be safely stored in the event of an emergency intervention by home firefighters, will be distributed free of charge to seniors in La Londe.

FUN FORMAT

To get back to the competition, the participants included Marion Cros and Maxime Terpman, two excellent golfers. Particularly happy to take part in this meeting, they talk about their day: "We were delighted to participate in this day, bathed in sunshine and extremely well organized by Lions Club La Londe and its partners. The format, original and fun, brought a real breath of fresh air compared to traditional competitions." The two players also remember a highlight of their game: "We had the chance to share our course with Delphine Hengsen, a disabled golfer, and her husband Matthias. Their courage, good humor, and exemplary nature deeply marked us." On the sporting side, the duo signed a great performance by finishing fourth in the standings, a place that crowns a day already rich in emotions. Beyond the game, this tournament served as a reminder of the importance of solidarity. Thanks to everyone's mobilization, €2,000 was collected to support essential causes, thus mixing the pleasure of sport with human commitment.
