At the Espace des Arts, Sellig and his family affairs...

The first comedy show of the cultural season, Sellig’s 'Episode 6' is a moment of laughter in a harsh world. An absolute must-see.

Sellig, this funny guy who climbed the steps of fame without tripping on the red carpet, will be at the Olympia on January 16 and 17—no less—to present his 6th show. No need to have seen the first five. Here, there is no recap of previous episodes, just hilarious slices of life that you will easily relate to. Capricious Wi-Fi, epic Christmas shopping, family gatherings with larger-than-life characters... It's all there, and it is joyfully absurd. Sellig has a gift for turning the ordinary into a comic nugget. We laugh heartily, we recognize ourselves (sometimes a bit too much), and we leave with the feeling of having shared a family dinner where nobody argued. Or almost.

RAW SOUL MUSIC

Already on October 17, Principles of Joy opened the cultural season at the Espace des Arts. This group is the very essence of raw soul, distilled with elegance and passion by a collective as generous as it is talented. Carried by the powerful and magnetic voice of Rachel Yarabou, it revived the flame of the great hours of African-American music, between flamboyant brass, a devastating groove, and raw emotion. Each track felt like a declaration of love to the roots of the genre. Listening to them, one thought of Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Sharon Jones, without ever falling into nostalgic imitation. On the contrary, Principles of Joy breathed an irresistible freshness, a lively energy, and a sense of rhythm, the kind that gets crowds on their feet and hearts beating. Their authenticity, sincerity, and musicianship have made them a true treasure of the contemporary soul scene.
