The rehabilitation took place in two major phases. The first involved the renovation of the municipal printing works, administrative offices, association rooms, as well as the fire safety service office and restrooms. The second phase focused on the renovation of the Gérard Philipe multi-purpose room, the Dieudonné Jacobs hall, the cultural service offices, and the landscaping of the outdoor spaces.
This work was carried out with an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient approach. The roof was redone, with the installation of a new frame and a metal covering. The waterproofing and sealing were reinforced, while the exterior and interior joinery were replaced.
High-performance energy insulation was installed in the floors. All heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment was modernized to reduce energy consumption. The electrical networks were brought up to standard, as was the fire safety system.
Finally, the building's accessibility and safety were ensured, and the outdoor areas underwent a complete redevelopment, enhanced by new plantings.
The cost of the work amounts to €10,224,629. Funding was jointly provided by the Ville de La Garde (€7,971,754), the Département (€1,175,980), and the Région Sud (€1,076,895).
An emblematic venue for cultural and community life, it has thus regained its full splendor. It is preparing to welcome associations, artists, and residents in a modernized and comfortable.
