The association forum, a key back-to-school event
Every year, the municipalities of Var organize their association forum, showcasing the dynamism of local life.

HIGHLIGHT These annual and unmissable events allow residents to discover the richness of the community network, meet volunteers, and choose an activity for the coming year. In short, it is an essential crossroads between residents and associations.
Sports, culture, solidarity, environment, creative hobbies, or tutoring, the associations of Var cover a wide range of fields. "The forum offers the opportunity to centralize all these initiatives in one place, facilitating direct contact between residents and association leaders. For many families, this is the ideal time to register children and teenagers in a sports club, a music school, or an art workshop," explains Nicolas Moulin, president of Histoire et Gendarmerie, an association dedicated to the heritage of the Maréchaussée.

The forum is also a highlight for civic life. Thus, beyond registrations, these events are also a way to promote civic engagement. Volunteers, often discreet throughout the year, find a space there for recognition and sharing.
"Among the very numerous associations, we also find all those working for the veteran community, the duty of remembrance, etc. Municipalities also highlight the essential role of associations in bringing local life to life, social cohesion, and the transmission of collective values," adds Nicolas Moulin.
These are also friendly and festive gatherings. In fact, each municipality adapts the formula in its own way: outdoor stands, sports fields or parks, on a central square, sports demonstrations, free trials, shows, or even musical entertainment. The goal is as much to inform as to create a warm and unifying moment.
"In the end, it is a dynamic that does not weaken. With a very large number of active associations in the department, the forums attract thousands of visitors every year. Elected officials point out that these events are all the more important as they help support volunteering, an essential driver of association life.
In short, association forums are much more than a simple showcase. Indeed, they are places for meetings, exchanges, and engagement where everyone can find their place and contribute to the vitality of their territory," concludes Nicolas Moulin.
