“Contributing to changing minds through a republican approach”
On October 8, the Société des Membres de la Légion d’Honneur du Var rewarded the candidates selected for the 4th edition of the “Prix de l’Apprentissage”.
This solidarity initiative, which contributes to the promotion of manual trades, is intended to support deserving young students facing particular difficulties in achieving their professional goals. “The Société des membres de la Légion d'honneur supports apprenticeship and professional training, because it is also the duty of the awardees to contribute to changing minds through a deeply republican approach, allowing everyone to live or regain the civic honor that is rightfully theirs,” points out Pierre Lasbordes, president of the SMLH du Var.
He adds: “Beyond the effectiveness of the technical measures implemented, the way our fellow citizens view these sectors must also change. So that apprenticeships and vocational training are no longer seen as paths reserved for failing students, but rather as avenues of success, leading to jobs and offering opportunities for social mobility. To quite simply contribute to strengthening national cohesion and intergenerational solidarity, and to enable all these young people to live with pride and honor their choices, which contribute to French excellence in all its forms.”
CANDIDATE SELECTION The institutions in charge of these training courses were invited to select the most deserving apprentices and invite them to compete for the Prix de l'Apprentissage. After interviewing each candidate individually, the applications were forwarded to a jury composed of members of the bureau of the SMLH du Var section, committee chairmen, and experts in the relevant fields.
In each field, the awards of excellence, honor, and encouragement are presented to the winners in the form of a medal, a diploma, and a check. The best of the eight excellence awards from the Section du Var will participate in the national ceremony on November 15, 2025, in Paris.
Finally, the SMLH Var will also offer assistance with resume writing, posting on LinkedIn, and coaching for those winners who wish to receive it.
Les établissements en charge de ces formations ont été invités à sélectionner des apprentis les plus méritants et à leur proposer de concourir au prix de l’apprentissage. Après avoir reçu l’apprentissage et individuellement chaque candidat, les dossiers ont été transmis à un jury composé de membres du bureau de la section de la SMLH du Var, des présidents de comité et d’experts dans les domaines concernés. Dans chaque domaine, les prix d’excellence, la formation d’honneur et d’encouragement sont décernés aux lauréats sous forme d’une médaille, d’un diplôme et d’un chèque. Le meilleur des huit prix d’excellence de la Section du Var participera à la cérémonie nationale le 15 novembre 2025, à Paris. Enfin, la SMLH Var proposera également une aide à la rédaction de CV, à la mise en ligne sur Linkedin et coaching, pour les lauréats qui le souhaitent. Cet événement Masson, président du Conseil Départemental et Pierre Lasbordes, s'est déroulé à l’Hôtel du Département dans les espaces de l’atrium.
