Since late September, residents of La Garonne have seen a new face behind the counter of their neighborhood grocery store.
Olivier and Marie, a couple driven by a shared passion for local shops, have taken over the reins of the local Proxi, with a clear ambition: to create a warm, practical, and friendly place where it is a pleasure to shop. A former butcher by trade, Olivier is carrying on a family tradition while giving his career a new direction. With Marie, he has already proven himself in several butcher shops in Haute-Savoie and Corse, before taking a step forward with the opening of a first Proxi store in Le Lavandou two years ago.
Today, it is La Garonne that welcomes their expertise and energy.
“The Proxi in La Garonne was true love at first sight,” they say in unison. “The location is ideal and the neighborhood's atmosphere won us over immediately. We want to offer a simple, peaceful, and friendly local shop where every customer feels at home.” GOURMET NOVELTIES Olivier and Marie do not plan to stop there.
In the coming weeks, the store will expand with several sections: a cut-to-order cheese area, a deli corner, a wine section highlighting beautiful local bottles and fresh products – organic eggs, seasonal fruits and vegetables, wines from La Navicelle and La Cibonne. The store is also preparing a redesigned layout for more comfort and clarity. Open every day except Monday afternoon, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Proxi La Garronne aims to be more than just a grocery store: it is a place of life for the neighborhood, where proximity rhymes with friendliness and quality.
• A practical and accessible postal service: The Proxi La Garonne is becoming a Post office point. In addition to the existing parcel pickup point, you will be able to buy stamps and send or receive your parcels, letters, and registered mail in a pleasant and welcoming setting.
