A third salle Mélanie has opened in the Var
On September 25, the gendarmerie de Brignoles and the Centre Hospitalier Brignoles - Le Luc, in partnership with several local authorities and organizations.
This inauguration, by the gendarmerie de Brignoles and the Centre Hospitalier intercommunal, took place in the presence of several mayors from the Centre and Haut Var, doctors, heads of municipal police, school directors, and associations committed to helping children victims of violence.
"Welcoming a salle Mélanie within our Centre hospitalier was an obvious choice and a responsibility," stressed Damien Flourez. He added: "Our establishment, which is already highly committed to Women's and Children's Health, whether through the gynécobus or the management of the sexual and reproductive health center, for example, wants to provide itself with the means to meet all their needs, and particularly those of the most vulnerable among them. It is also in this spirit that a 'Femme-Parent-Enfant' hub will be created, with new services and a protective charter for patients and children, designed by our healthcare staff."
"And that is also why collaborations with child protection actors are being strengthened. The hospital is the primary place for detecting physical, social, and psychological violence and vulnerabilities. Our responsibility is great, reflecting the commitment of our doctors and healthcare staff to these issues."
With an overall area of 52m², the salle Mélanie consists of an interview room, a technical room, and a reception room. The partitions have highly effective sound insulation, and the technical room is equipped with a two-way mirror connected to the interview room. Access to the premises is via a dedicated external entrance, ensuring there is no crossing of flows with visitors and residents of the centre hospitalier's departments.
The technical installations are independent of the establishment's networks and operate autonomously.
