François de Canson elected president of the Institut français du tourisme

In October, the president of the Comité Régional de Tourisme was unanimously elected for a three-year term.

An association under the 1901 law created in 2009 by Georges Dubrule (co-founder of the Accor group), Jean-Jacques Descamps (Secretary of State for Tourism in the Chirac government between 1986 and 1988) and Jean-Luc Michaud (former director of tourism and currently executive president), the Institut Français du Tourisme is a totally independent think tank. It has a national audience and was internationally recognized by the Programme des Nations-Unis pour l'environnement (PNUE) label for sustainable tourism at its creation. It is important to make it known because everyone will be able to note the diversity of professions involved in the tourism sector and the dynamism of this market. The IFT speaks freely and aims to be the interlocutor for the government and naturally the ministry in charge of tourism. It is also at the forefront of training.
