Julien Argento (UDR- RN): "I want a new vision for the future of La Valette"

Born in Toulon, 32 years old, and father of a 6-year-old daughter, Julien Argento arrived in La Valette at the age of 14, where he grew up and built his professional life. Today, he works as a business owner in the real estate sector.
The goal of his commitment is to lead a campaign of rupture, driven by the desire to serve the Valettois. PROTECT AND PRESERVE "Today, I want to offer the Valettoises and Valettois a new vision for the future of my village and my children. My project is based on 3 key ideas: protect, preserve, and energize.
This triptych represents a real alternative for a more supportive, sustainable, and attractive future," explains Julien Argento.
Thus, on security issues, he adds: "Protecting means strengthening security across the entire municipal territory with the implementation of a night brigade for the municipal police, and it is also an increase in the number of surveillance cameras. And, above all, it is a merciless fight against drug trafficking."
« Aujourd’hui, je veux proposer aux Valettoises et aux Valettois une nouvelle vision pour l’avenir de mon village et de mes enfants. Mon projet repose sur 3 idées fortes : protéger, préserver et dynamiser. Ce tryptique représente une véritable alternative pour un avenir plus solidaire, durable et attractif », explique Julien Argento. Ainsi, sur les questions de sécurité, il ajoute : « Protéger, c’est le renforcement de la sécurité sur l’ensemble du territoire de la commune avec la mise en place d’une brigade de nuit de la police municipale et c'est, aussi, une augmentation du nombre de caméras de surveillance. Et c'est, surtout, une lutte sans merci contre le trafic de drogue ». En termes d'aménagement urbain, le candidat souhaite préserver la ville des futurs aménagements : « C’est, avant tout, stopper le bétonnage et permettre de développer un accès au logement social pour les Valettois en priorisant les réhabilitations d’appartements vacants plutôt que la construction de nouveaux bâtiments ». Sur le dossier des finances locales, le chef d'entreprise propose de retrouver une capacité d’investissement pour la Ville en renégociant à la baisse la contribution foncière des entreprises avec la Métropole.
In terms of urban planning, the candidate wishes to preserve the town from future developments: "Above all, it means stopping the concreting over and enabling the development of access to social housing for the Valettois by prioritizing the rehabilitation of vacant apartments rather than the construction of new buildings."
On the issue of local finances, the business owner proposes restoring the Town's investment capacity by renegotiating downwards the corporate property contribution with the Métropole. ONE-STOP SHOP Continuing on economic issues, he adds: "We need to create an economic council to support businesses in La Valette and set up a sort of one-stop shop, and I also want to establish neighborhood councils to listen to residents on a daily basis.
On the agricultural issue, I propose, for example, creating an eco-farm in La Valette Sud."
In the field of culture, Julien Argento also puts forward some strong ideas: "We must rediscover a cultural town by proposing the construction of a large cultural center and a festive life with the restoration of the fête de la Pigne. Indeed, the pine cone is the emblem of the town, and that is why you will find it on my campaign logo."
During his candidacy presentation conference, he also spoke about the composition of his list: "This team is endorsed by the UDR and supported by the RN. I am surrounded by diverse figures, all very attached to their town. It will be a list that goes beyond partisan considerations.
It will include men and women who are involved in the daily life of the town, with qualities and skills that they can present to the Valettois."
A LONG POLITICAL PATH For the candidate, his candidacy for mayor of La Valette-du-Var is the culmination of a long political journey that began in 2011, when he was a law student. Indeed, that year, he became politically active by joining the UMP, where he campaigned for 13 years. Then, in 2018, he became involved in local life in La Valette by serving as vice-president of the downtown merchants' association of La Valette, which has more than 170 members.
In 2020, he was even a running mate of the current mayor in the municipal elections. Then, in 2023, as president of the association Valette, Animation, Événementiel, he initiated a major event, "Les cuisines du Sud", which was a huge success.
Finally, in 2024, at the time of the dissolution of the Assemblée nationale, he broke away from his party (LR) and followed Éric Ciotti's initiative when he created the UDR. After that, he committed himself to Laure Lavalette (RN deputy), becoming her substitute in the legislative elections for the 2nd constituency of the Var. It was also in 2024 that Éric Ciotti, founding president of the UDR, entrusted him with the political responsibility for the UDR within the Var.
