In 2026, Hubert Larose wants to step down as president of the UCPL
On November 7, at the general assembly of UCPL (Union Cycliste et Pédale Londaise), all presented reports were unsurprisingly approved.
After 10 years of loyal service, Hubert Larose wishes to step down.
The directions taken should facilitate the arrival of a new team.
Warmly applauded by the 130 people present, the activity report detailed the events in which the peloton from La Londe participated this year. At the local level, the club was present at events either with its stand or through the presence of numerous volunteers. Once again, the club's partners were thanked, starting with the Municipality, represented by François de Canson, the mayor, who was accompanied by many members of the Municipal Council.
7 ATHLETES HONORED As in previous years, the renewal of the outgoing third of the steering committee maintained parity with 7 women and 7 men.
The president honored 7 members of the club for their sporting achievements or their commitment to the club. Thus, Henry Pigaglio (89 years old) who completes a 650 km cycling trip every year, Maxime Isbard, Nicolas Mignot, and Julien Dicioccio who took part in the Tour de France stage (136 km and 4,464 meters of elevation gain), Jean Luc and Matéo Debret, the two loyal pillars of the Saturday afternoon mountain biking school, and Raymonde Dinée who, besides being the club's linchpin, covered 14,800 km by bicycle with 166,000 meters of elevation gain. In 2026, the program will closely resemble that of 2025.
However, changes were announced by the president, notably affiliation with the Fédération Française de Cyclisme (FFC), which will allow young competitors to join the club and facilitate its rejuvenation.
In addition, on March 21, 2026, the Concours Départemental d'Éducation Routière will be organized in La Londe.
Nearly 200 young people from the Var participate every year. On the administrative side, an IT workspace is being created and will simplify all administrative paperwork.
Furthermore, the rejuvenated organizing team of the "La Maurin des Maures" ride (April 12, 2026) has already worked on the registration and communication aspects, with the support of the Municipality.
For adult mountain bikers, meeting days with other clubs will be organized.
Finally, the president's term ends in November 2026.
The traditional paella concluded this evening marked by conviviality.
