This project, supported by the Ville for several years, was inaugurated on November 7. From its very first season, the theatre offers a varied and ambitious program with classical and contemporary theatre, concerts, musicals, ciné-concerts, etc. Thus, more than 30 performances are planned, including public rehearsals, school sessions, and double shows to ensure access for as many people as possible.
The objective is to make spectators dream, marvel, and open themselves to new artistic horizons.
REGIONAL VOCATION The new theatre is distinguished by its exceptional dimensions. It features a large stage and a ceiling height of 9 meters, allowing it to host large-scale shows, dance, music, circus, comedy shows, magic, or performances aimed at young audiences. During the inauguration, Hélène Arnaud-Bill, the mayor, spoke with great emotion regarding the work achieved: culture.
“A place where everyone can take a break, marvel, reflect, dream. A place where we choose to imagine horizons, where others draw borders. Thank you all for your commitment, your enthusiasm, and for being so many to show us your support.”
For her part, Martine Blanc, deputy mayor for culture, stressed: “L'Escale will be a true center of creation and artistic innovation. It offers a multidisciplinary program to reach a wide audience. Accessible to all, it will offer adapted rates and facilities for people with disabilities.
It supports artists by offering them a space for expression, promotes cultural synergies with the media library and the gallery La Galerie G, and plays a role in professional training for live performance professions.”
