Eclat d’Art illuminates the salle Pierre Bel

Organized by the roommates and the team of Villa Stéphanie, this event made it possible to share talent and passion through various artistic expressions, despite their disabilities. Thus, visitors took part in introductory workshops and discovered numerous exhibitions. Graffiti, music, writing, slam, ceramics, painting, sewing, collage, crochet, book sculpting, DJing, fabric painting, origami, and reading, everyone found an activity to their liking. Alex Z, Djum, Sebs, Ludivine, Melvyn Melski, Corinne, Sophie Destremau, Le Petit Monde de Sarah, Sye88, Françoise Chopin, Mlle Baudruche, Patricia Olivier, and the association NEEKTAR hosted the day with creativity and generosity.

FESTIVE MOMENTS

The evening was punctuated by festive and friendly moments with the set by Ray from the association NEEKTAR, the concert by the group Balatira from the foyer Matira, performances by the school L-Danse Studio, a hip-hop show by the Villas Club des Six du Var, and the "Jumoristes" Kevin and Mickael who brought a touch of humor of great sensitivity. The Club des Six offers shared and supported housing across the entire territory for people with disabilities. These flatshares allow six adults to live together while reclaiming their place as citizens. Since 2014, twenty-seven villas have been opened and more than one hundred and sixty roommates have already signed their lease. Villa Stéphanie, located in La Valette, illustrates this concept of inclusive housing. This 322 m2 house, opening onto a small garden, includes five large bedrooms with bathrooms, a guest bedroom, and a studio designed to support a person towards autonomy. The roommates also have a vast common area with a living room, open kitchen, laundry room, and media library, promoting exchanges and conviviality. •

The history of the Club des Six

Sabrina, a young woman full of life, became severely disabled at 18 after a serious car accident. This ordeal turned her life and that of her family upside down. After several years in a hospital environment, she regained partial autonomy but continued to depend on significant assistance for daily activities and cognitive and motor stimulation. Despite this, she wished to leave the family cocoon and live her life as a young woman to the fullest. Her sister, Maïlys Cantzler, supported by the family, then imagined an innovative solution: creating a flatshare for people with disabilities. Residents would benefit from 24/7 professional support, promoting their autonomy, fulfillment, and social inclusion. This is how the Club des Six was born. Villa Sabrina, inaugurated in June 2014, became a place of progress and strong human connections. It would be the first of the 27 villas! This model, called inclusive housing, shows that it is possible to combine professional support, autonomy, and shared life for people with disabilities.
