Enedis and its partners inaugurate an 'electricity networks' class
On December 5, Enedis and electrical grid industry players (SRER, FNTP, Serpollet Sud-Est, Azur Travaux, Sobeca, Avicollo, EMT...) inaugurated a new class.
This partnership officializes the establishment of an 'electricity networks' class as part of the "Les Écoles des réseaux pour la transition énergétique" program. This initiative, supported by the Éducation nationale and the power grid industrial sector, aims to train future electricians for the jobs of tomorrow and meet the massive recruitment needs linked to the electrification of uses and decarbonization. Intended for students of the Bac Pro Métiers de l'électricité et de ses environnements connectés (MELEC), it complements the Certificat de Spécialisation Technicien en réseaux électriques launched in 2024.
COURSES, INTERNSHIPS, AND MODULES By signing this partnership agreement with Enedis, SRER, FNTP, Serpollet Sud-Est, Azur Travaux, Sobeca, Avicollo, EMT, Circet, VRTP, and SFM, the Lycée des métiers Cisson of Toulon allows each student in its Bac Pro MELEC 'electricity networks' class to benefit from courses dedicated to power grid professions, specific equipment for the high school's technical platforms, internships in the sector's companies, site visits, and complementary educational modules (safety and neurosciences, customer relationship management, etc.). In concrete terms, it is a strong commitment from the industry to prepare young people for the jobs of tomorrow. "This specialization of our Bac Pro MELEC is a real opportunity for our students.
Following the launch last year of the Certificat de Spécialisation Technicien en réseaux électriques, thanks to the investment of Enedis and its partners, we are convinced that these strong partnerships, built with local businesses, will allow for better professional integration of our students.
We aim for the success of each of them and are proud to participate in making the electrical networks industrial sector more attractive," confirmed Myriam Bobet, Principal of the Lycée G. Cisson (Toulon).
For her part, Béatrice Pandelis, regional director of Enedis in Côte d'Azur, added: "It is with great pride that we are launching this “electricity networks” class today for the benefit of Bac Pro MELEC students. The specialization certificate we initiated a year ago has already shown its effectiveness: it has trained young people who have become our daily colleagues. This new step confirms our commitment to offering concrete pathways and developing the essential skills needed to succeed in the ecological transition and prepare the future of our territories."
3,300 PEOPLE IN WORK-STUDY PROGRAMS Thus, within the Académie de Nice, 3 other high schools are participating in the "Les Écoles des réseaux pour la transition énergétique" program with the support of Enedis and its partners. These are the Lycée des Eucalyptus (Nice), the Lycée du Val d'Argens (Le Muy) with the specialization of the Bac Pro MELEC diploma, and the Lycée Rouvière (Toulon) with the specialization of the BTS Électrotechnique diploma. Nationally, more than 150 establishments welcome young people from seconde to BTS in "electricity networks" classes.
In France, the electrical sector recruits 8,300 employees each year, including 3,300 in work-study programs.
In the country, the share of electricity in final energy consumption will increase from 25% to 55% by 2050. Thus, the establishment of these specific classes and the specialization of training courses contribute to the attractiveness of the power grid industrial sector by offering students a concrete professional project in order to meet, in particular, the challenges of developing electrical networks in the face of the ecological transition: digitization of networks, connection of charging infrastructures for electric vehicles, integration of renewable energies, etc.
Finally, to support this acceleration, Enedis and its partners are continuing their recruitment in the territory, for positions such as intervention electricians, maintenance technicians, connection project managers, etc.
