CDOS rewards sustainable development initiatives

On December 5, 2025, on the occasion of International Volunteer Day, the ceremony for the 2025 “Terre de sport durable” competition took place on the premises of the Comité Olympique et Sportif du Var (CDOS). It highlighted the work of Var associations in environmental matters. “This ceremony is an opportunity to highlight those who act concretely to transform sport in Var: more responsible, more inclusive, more respectful of the environment and of people. The vote was very close, the “Développement durable” and “Valorisation” commissions of CDOS 83 debated at length, but they were above all struck by the diversity of the projects, the quality of the work achieved and the ambition of the committed structures,” declared Laurent Labeaune, president of CDOS 83. Among the ten participating structures, the Comité départemental de rugby du Var and AS SLAJACA of Saint-Raphaël finished tied for first place. Both structures were rewarded for their environmental initiatives in their respective competitions. They each received a check for €400 as well as the “Développement durable” trophy. A trophy that lived up to its name since it was made entirely from materials found at sea. It was designed by the association Sauvage Med, based in Aix-en-Provence. In addition, Aquabulles, the diving club of Le Pradet, reached the third step of the podium and received a trophy and €200. All participating associations were provided with recycled water bottles and key rings.
