Children put their hands to the soil!

A beautiful morning dedicated to nature, supervised by landscape architects from the Société Provençale de Paysage and architects from Rougerie et Tangram, in charge of the Cœur de Ville project. Beyond the simple pleasure of gardening, this activity was part of a strong educational approach aimed at raising children's awareness of the environment and helping them understand the importance of urban greening. Before planting, the young participants discussed essential questions: Why do we plant vegetation? How do they help cool the city, promote biodiversity, or beautify our living environment? Each child was then given one or two perennial plants — Ballote, Cistus, Fenouil, Scabieuse de Grèce, Immortelle d’Italie, Romarin, Santoline, or Verveine — which they planted with care. To round off this green morning, everyone left proud of their work, equipped with a planting certificate accompanied by a botanical sheet for their plant. "This type of workshop allows children to become true actors in the respect and maintenance of green spaces," stressed Mme Bill, mayor of La Garde, delighted to see this civic and educational initiative take root in the hearts of the youngest.
