Students learn about the healthcare system

During this day, screenings, information on access to rights and healthcare, sports workshops, and prevention activities were offered to students thanks to 40 stands spread across 4 university sites. Dominique Viot, president of the Var delegation of the Mutualité, recalls the goal of the initiative: “This day was born from the work undertaken by the Mutualité in 2024 on young people's perception of our social protection and healthcare system and its future. A large consultation gathered the opinions of more than 1,000 young people.”
Thus, the main themes were addressed: the lack of information on how the healthcare system and mutual insurance funds work, as well as on prevention topics (STIs, addictions, etc.). Professionals also mentioned difficulties in accessing care (social, financial, and territorial inequalities) and the issue of mental health.
The mutual insurance company relied on its network of health partners (healthcare professionals, associations, CPAM, Communauté professionnelle Territoriale de santé (CPTS), CDOS, CCAS, BIJ de La Garde, etc.).
