Magali Brune: "I represent a hoped-for alternative"

This is a new experience for the activist who is leading an RN list for the March 2026 elections. At 48 years old, married and a mother of 2, she was a physics and chemistry teacher for ten years. Then, about fifteen years ago, she joined the family food supplement business (VITA API) in La Garde.

FROM VOTER TO CANDIDATE

"The great-granddaughter of farmers, I am very attached to this municipality because we are Solliès-Pontois from generation to generation. My grandparents ran the Brayda drugstore for over 30 years in the town center. My grandfather helped create the community hall and developed the Rio cinema for about ten years. Both of my grandfathers were municipal councilors at different times. This shows how much my family lives and has lived, worked, committed, and is still committed to Solliès-Pont while still working in the town." Of Laure Lavalette, she says the MP inspires her a lot: "It is what she embodies that suits me best: her simplicity, her generosity, her determination in representing patriotic values. This made me want to go from being a Rassemblement National voter to a Rassemblement National candidate. She has trusted me for over a year to coordinate activist actions in Solliès-Pont by appointing me as the representative of my town, and I thank her for that. My candidacy in Solliès-Pont is therefore the logical continuation of my commitment." "Thanks to many discussions with residents and shopkeepers, I feel the immense hope generated by the prospect of a change of leadership in Solliès-Pont."

INSECURITY

It is also the worrying situation of my town that motivates my candidacy, adds the young woman: "Currently there are only 8 municipal police officers. Some time ago, with 1,000 fewer inhabitants, we had 10! I do not want us to get used to having a knot in our stomach when we walk in the evening in Solliès-Pont, because we do not have a night patrol. It is as if daily and local security no longer matters once night falls, quite the contrary!" She continues: "I am keen to focus my program on two other priority points: Stopping excessive over-concretization because our beautiful town, the capital of figs, is being disfigured by the countless buildings springing up. To remedy the flagrant lack of parking that prevents access to the town center, new parking lots will have to be created. Finally, I wish to develop the social sector, particularly early childhood, by giving parents the possibility to choose the childcare method by making it as suited to their child as possible. Professions dealing with humans must be revalued to reflect the human added value they create. I do not want the most vulnerable Solliès-Pontois and Solliès-Pontoises to be left behind. With a three percentage point decrease in the childcare rate for young children over 5 years, it is becoming more and more complicated for parents to find childcare for their children. Along with a lack of home care offers at night for elderly people, and a lack of offers promoting the self-determination of people with disabilities."

EXCESSIVE CONCRETIZATION

Regarding the concretization of the town, she continues: "With the countless buildings that have sprung up, parking has become problematic, as has the transport offer, which is very uneven depending on whether we live in the town center or on the outskirts, such as in the eco-district. I do not want the only project in Solliès-Pont to consist of piling concrete on our land to pursue the artificial objective of building 15,000 dormitory rooms." "I propose to stop the frenetic concretization of Solliès-Pont, regain our natural spaces and return them to the Solliès-Pontois. Our town is not a dormitory town, we must rediscover the pleasure of working in Solliès-Pont, consuming in Solliès-Pont, meeting in Solliès-Pont, celebrating Solliès-Pont, and living in Solliès-Pont." This is why she wants to relaunch community activities because Solliès-Pont is, in her eyes, becoming a soulless dormitory town. "If the Solliès-Pontois and Solliès-Pontoises trust me, I will make it my heart's desire to be a caring and empathetic mayor, to regularly consult the population, notably by organizing local referendums," promises the candidate.
