When will you crash?
In 2025, VINCI Autoroutes recorded nearly 50 collisions involving intervention vehicles across its entire network.
Thus, on December 19, a VINCI Autoroutes intervention van was hit by a light vehicle on the A10 motorway in the Blaye sector. The van was protecting a vehicle in the left lane when a car crashed into it from behind. All of its regulatory light signaling devices were nevertheless activated.
Fortunately, the patrol officer was not injured during this event but is deeply shocked.
Also, during this off-season period, some rest areas of the Escota network, in the Sud region, have been decorated in the colors of road worker safety. Indeed, the concessionaire has deployed, for the second time, an awareness campaign across several areas of the Escota network to bring this safety issue back into the spotlight. This initiative aimed to increase road users' attention when approaching intervention teams.
Present on the A8, A57, A50, and A52 (Aire de Manon des Sources, Aire des Frères Lumière, Aire de La Garde, Aire de l'Esterel, Aire de Mougins, and on the aire de la Riviera Française and the aire de Via Julia Augusta), this exhibition featured the messages from the 'When will you crash?' campaign.
Each cube features 4 visuals: the average number of vans hit each week, the safety corridor rule, the lane reduction arrow, and a message showing one of our patrol officers on duty with the words 'Please protect them'.
