Welcome support for the Rugby Fauteuil Club Toulon Provence Méditerranée
During the 8th Méditerranée Cup, the Fondation VINCI Autoroutes rewarded the Var club for deploying its solidarity initiatives
Indeed, during this flagship event of the wheelchair rugby competition in the region, at the palais des Sports de Toulon, the Fondation VINCI Autoroutes officialized its sponsorship agreement with the Rugby Fauteuil Club Toulon Provence Méditerranée. Thus, funding of €10,000 was provided to help the club equip itself with new material in order to develop its road risk awareness activities in the schools of the metropolis.
This support illustrates the complementarity between the non-profit sector and the corporate world. A concrete action, which makes sense and allows the club to also contribute to the influence of the city of Toulon through a common vector, rugby.
On the field, the Toulon association develops and unites the public around the values of sport and solidarity through the practice of Rugby Fauteuil for leisure and competition. The club is the only one to offer Rugby Fauteuil in the Var and in the Région Sud.
During this official ceremony, several figures were present, notably Guillaume Mélenchon, president of the club, Bernadette Moreau, Déléguée générale of the Fondation VINCI Autoroutes, Yann Clément, sponsor of the association and head of project communication for the Escota network, Bertrand Wipf-Scheibel, Director of Communication for the Escota network, elected officials from the city of Toulon, the Métropole, and the département du Var, and players from the club.
For its part, the Fondation VINCI Autoroutes, created in February 2011, is at once a laboratory, an observatory, and an information tool dedicated to changing behaviors. Committed from the start to promoting individual and collective responsibility on the road, it has progressively expanded its field of action to education, respect for the environment, and openness to others through reading.
These are all translations, for everyone, of the aspiration to behave well on the road. Since 2022, it has supported projects for the preservation and restoration of natural heritage in the regions.
Thus, it raises awareness among the general public by conducting information and awareness campaigns on road risk, responsible driving, and environmental preservation.
Finally, it supports community and citizen initiatives by promoting projects in favor of safe mobility, respectful of others and the environment, and by supporting ecological restoration projects.
