Between acoustics and technology, Pierre on cello and Arthur on piano
On February 14, two musicians are on stage at the Théâtre l'Escale, with a piano and a cello.
On one side, Pierre is an inventive, surprising, and free musician. He can caress his instrument, lyrical and soft, and he can manhandle it, wild and chaotic. On the other, Arthur is at the piano, keyboards, guitar, vocals, poetry, and trance! Between acoustics and technology, the two artists will attempt to invent creative music live while reinventing its classics. First, the old classical acoustic sound, familiar and warm, then infinite processing by new technologies. Pierre samples, loops, grinds, transforms. Arthur modifies, opens, widens. Always in a low-tech spirit, à la Méliès. Everything is visible and everything is invented on the spot. The gesture is musical, analog is the future. To tell today's stories, so that technology does not turn us into robots. The human commanding the machine and not the other way around. In spontaneity, in the moment, there is freedom, the suspension of time, listening. And play, the pleasure of venturing into it, the joy of energy.
