Nicolas Salsou campaigns for a liberated economy and uncompromising security

As a former territorial advisor for the CCI du Var, and a perfect connoisseur of the economic ecosystem of La Garde, it is through the prism of economic pragmatism that Nicolas Salsou wishes to address this major issue for the future of La Garde. Pointing to a growing divorce with the active forces of the municipality, the candidate of the Union des droites (bringing together the RN, the RPR, and the UDR) delivers an uncompromising assessment: “Business parks must no longer be simple fiscal adjustment variables. Yes to real economic development, which means a tangible reduction in taxation, especially the tax on signs, and the provision of an elected representative specifically dedicated to businesses.”

The candidate adds: “This economic recovery cannot happen without a drastic security component, the true backbone of my project. My analysis is clear because insecurity harms prosperity.

My program therefore provides for the immediate creation of a night municipal police force, carrying out regular patrols including in industrial areas, coupled with 24/7 monitoring of video protection.” Furthermore, he intends to “densify the network of cameras to guarantee a safe area.”

My innovation in this field lies in the creation of a position for a garde champêtre, meaning two people hired. END OF PUNITIVE ECOLOGY On the urban planning front, the candidate also positions himself as a defender of the identity of La Garde in the face of real estate pressure: “I condemn the megalomaniacal projects of the outgoing mandate, pointing to sumptuary spending and notably 45 million € on two projects even as the State seeks 40 billion in savings. My creed is simple: We must put in place controlled urbanization, meaning a PLU for the inhabitants of La Garde and not for developers. My vision translates into a refusal of excessive densification, particularly in the Thouars neighborhood where I promise a halt to concrete development.”

In concrete terms, this means restoring two weekly household waste collection rounds, as many other municipalities in the Var do. This public health measure is strongly demanded by residents of residential areas.

Agriculture is also a concern of mine. My project aims to bring abandoned agricultural land back into use and promote short food supply chains by prioritizing local vegetables from La Garde in school cafeterias, brushing aside the argument of public procurement constraints by imposing advantageous carbon criteria.”
