Resounding success for the 12th edition of L’Ayguadoise
On January 11, Hyères hosted the 12th edition of L’Ayguadoise, a running race organized by ASPTT Hyères.
Under a radiant sun, the participants covered varied paths, ranging from sand to asphalt, in an idyllic seaside setting.
1,000 REGISTERED
This year, the event attracted a record number of runners, with 1,000 registered including 635 for the 10 km course and 365 for the 5 km. Young runners were not left out, with 80 children registered for the 9-12 years race. L’Ayguadoise thus establishes itself as a must-attend event for running enthusiasts, with a notable increase in the number of registrants, going from 80 to 812 on the 10 km distance in 14 years. The courses were open to everyone, licensed or not, from 16 years old for the 10 km, 14 years old for the 5.3 km, and children aged 9 to 12 for the 1 km course, accompanied by their parents. This diversity brought together a large community of runners, with an almost even split between men (528) and women (474), representing 47% of female participants. The organization of this beautiful day was made possible thanks to the commitment of 140 volunteers and the collaboration of 28 partners, including local businesses and institutions (Ville de Hyères, Comité Olympique et Sportif du Var, Fédération Française d’Athlétisme, etc.). Among the partners, we also find businesses such as Crédit Agricole PCA, E. Leclerc Hyères, boulangerie-pâtisserie PAUL, pharmacie de la plage, Sportips, Terre de Running... From the start, the runners were in the zone with a musical warm-up, and at the finish, massages and a buffet awaited them to reward them for their efforts.
GREAT PERFORMANCES
In terms of results, Arnaud Rougeron won the men's 10 km in 32 minutes and 19 seconds, while Charlotte Maurin was the first female in 37 minutes and 15 seconds. In the 5 km, Guillaume Boutillier finished in 17 minutes and 36 seconds, and Hélène Billon crossed the finish line in 19 minutes and 57 seconds. Michel Lottier, secretary general of ASPTT Hyères, thanks the volunteers and partners who contributed to the success of the event. L’Ayguadoise continues to appeal to running enthusiasts and already promises an even grander edition next year.
