Literary curiosity and ecological sensitivity at FLAP 2026

Between book signings, readings, lectures, workshops and shows, FLAP 2026 lived up to all its promises. A weekend rich in emotions and discoveries, placed under the double sign of literary curiosity and ecological sensitivity. This year, the festival was structured around a strong theme dedicated to the Mediterranean Sea and the oceans. A guiding thread carried with conviction by the "Explore et Préserve" association, which offered a notable lecture in the presence of several authors from the collection "Des nouvelles de la mer", highlighting the importance of protecting marine environments.

40 AUTHORS

Placed under the presidency of the Provençal novelist René Frégni, this edition brought together more than 40 authors with diverse backgrounds. In particular, the public met children's illustrator Peggy Nille, novelist Sophie de Baere, as well as Tania de Montaigne and Nora Hamadi, sponsors of this edition. On the discovery side, the children's publishing house "Le Grand Jardin" (Aix-en-Provence) was distinguished as "Éditeur coup de cœur 2026", praising the quality of its work and its commitment to young audiences. The artistic programming also charmed with a children's show by the company "L’Étreinte" and a concert at the Espace des Arts. Writing workshops, activities for children, the children's area of the municipal library—everything was in place to make this weekend a moment of intergenerational sharing. Another highly appreciated highlight: the spelling bee contest organized by the Rotary Club Toulon – Levant – Liberté, which benefited from the participation of Charles Berling.
