Innovation and passion at the heart of the 27th edition
From January 8 to 11, the Porte de Versailles hosted the 27th Salon International de la plongée sous-marine, bringing together 66,000 visitors around...

A gathering for enthusiasts, the 2026 edition was resolutely focused on sharing and the future. With more than 500 exhibitors present to offer dream destinations and cutting-edge equipment, the event confirmed its status as a leader. Seasoned divers and the curious alike were able to start the year under the sign of escape and the discovery of oceanic wonders.
SPORTING EXCELLENCE

As is the case every year, the stand of the Fédération Française d’Études et de Sports Sous-Marins (FFESSM) was a privileged meeting space. Members, clubs, and partners gathered there to discuss federal actions and new practices. The focus was on reflection, with themed conferences such as "La plongée de demain : réflexions en Méditerranée française," led by experts. Biodiversity, sporting performance, and the challenges of sustainable tourism set the pace for the debates. On the activities side, the traditional heated pool allowed for many first trials of freediving and scuba diving, supervised by the federation's instructors. Saturday was a memorable day, highlighting the talents of the discipline. The Commission nationale Bio & Environnement presented the awards for the photo contest "Les Yeux dans l'eau," highlighting the creativity of underwater photographers. The show was also an opportunity to present the medal-winning champions of 2025. Freediving, finswimming, underwater hockey, and photo-video athletes were celebrated for their performances at the highest level.

TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS
Two manufacturers particularly caught attention for their ingenuity. Beuchat unveiled the "1Dive +", a buoyancy compensator designed for clubs but featuring remarkable robustness and adaptability. Its unique feature lies in its two weight pockets, capable of holding up to 4 kg of lead each via a pocket or a releasable strap, making life easier for instructors. Its internal adjustments also allow it to adapt to the changing morphology of divers. For its part, Divevolk made a splash with an unprecedented innovation: the "SeaLink UMST". This device makes it possible to send an internet signal to a submerged smartphone via a floating surface transmitter. Connected by a 30-meter cable to the waterproof housing, this system offers divers access to all their phone's applications underwater, a world first.

VAR, LAND OF DIVING
Finally, visitors were able to appreciate the strong presence of the department with the Var Tourisme stand. The organization highlighted the richness of the Var seabed, promoting around a hundred dive sites extending from Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer to Saint-Raphaël. An essential promotion for this territory where 30% of tourists engage in water sports.
