ON APRIL 15 AT ESPACE DES ARTS: This event is part of welcoming, from June 23 to 28, the rugby team from the city of Oujgorod (Ukraine) by the La Seyne-sur-Mer rugby club.

With the support of the Ville du Pradet, the association is offering a launch evening featuring a concert by the band Soul and Sun, as well as a refreshment stand and catering service. LAUNCH EVENING SPORT, A VEHICLE FOR PEACE Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, many players have been mobilized. Only clubs located in cities west of Kiev can still operate, mainly with youth teams.

"Yet, sport remains a powerful vehicle for peace and bringing people together. It allows athletes of different nationalities to meet on a field and create bonds that go beyond the strictly sporting context. These exchanges promote mutual understanding and pave the way for lasting relationships," explains Jean-François Loubet, president of the Office des Échanges avec l'Ukraine.

He adds: "During the stay of these young Ukrainians, we want to introduce them to our region and Provençal culture outside of sports times (training and matches). We are looking for partners, sponsors, and patrons to successfully carry out this project and cover expenses related to accommodation, meals, and visits. Through this initiative, we hope to initiate real exchanges between the Transcarpatie region and the Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, which could then develop in other fields such as culture, tourism, or economic exchanges."

TWO PRESTIGIOUS PATRONS The event is under the patronage of Léon Loppy and Yves Pujol.

For Léon Loppy: "Rugby is solidarity in struggle, just as Ukrainians have been living it for three years. Bringing a little joy in these difficult times is a great initiative." For his part, Yves Pujol adds: "Rugby, and sport in general, carry values that bring people together and unite them.

This match represents a sporting, human, and solidary truce for these young people going through very difficult times. Thank you to the La Seyne club for welcoming them and showing them that here, as elsewhere in the world, we aspire for peace to return, to their land as well as to their hearts."
