Associations, the cement of local life

With more than 130 active associations – whether sports, cultural, leisure, patriotic, or humanitarian – the mayor welcomes a rich, dynamic, and unifying associative fabric. Aware of this strength, Hervé Stassinos and his team support local associations: "A position of association liaison has been created to offer close support and a personalized contact point for administrative and financial procedures. Volunteers also benefit from valuable support in their subsidy applications to the Région Sud and the Métropole TPM," explains the mayor.
The mayor adds: "To promote encounters and friendliness, the Ville has established the now-essential "Repas des associations", a moment of sharing and recognition, as well as the Forum des associations organized at the start of each school year. These events allow volunteers to meet, residents to discover new activities, and to get involved in local life."
Furthermore, associations are places of listening, solidarity, and encounters. They contribute to the vitality of the commune and allow everyone – young people, families, seniors – to find their place and thrive.
Behind every activity, every event, there are women and men who give of their time. Sport, culture, solidarity: volunteers are everywhere, often in the shadows, but always essential.
"Getting involved in an association is first and foremost about sharing and creating connections," confides Christine, a volunteer in a cultural association for more than 25 years.
