60 local youth at the heart of space innovation

For 24 hours, with an all-nighter included, they took on challenges proposed by CNES, ESA, Thales Alenia Space, and Airbus, imagining concrete solutions for the space sector of tomorrow. The ten teams, made up of students from ISEN Méditerranée, Centrale Méditerranée, Plateforme Marseille, Esaip, and the Université de Toulon, combined technical skills, creativity, and teamwork. They worked under very tight time constraints, but always in a supportive and enthusiastic atmosphere.

Throughout the hackathon, participants benefited from the guidance of experts mobilized for 24 hours in various fields: artificial intelligence, development, robotics, cybersecurity, data, etc. Valuable support to turn ideas into credible projects in record time.

The opening of the hackathon set the tone for the event. Participants had the chance to speak live via videoconference with French astronaut Jean-François Clervoy. A powerful and inspiring moment, offering the youth a human, scientific, and concrete look at the space adventure.

AWARD-WINNING PROJECTS Among all the proposals, several teams stood out, and the jury chose to reward four teams. With the "Clean the Space" challenge, this team proposed a solution to help detect cosmic anomalies and track space infrastructure. Cosmic anomaly detection and debris tracking, in order to improve the physical safety of space infrastructure.

They will be in the national final in Bordeaux in April, with the opportunity to win a Zero G flight, or a trip to Kourou to attend a space shuttle launch (Prize for the best International project)!
