The CCAS multiplies solidarity actions
Throughout the year, the Centre Communal d’Action Sociale (CCAS) is heavily mobilized with its partners to support people in need.
Distribution of food bags, hair collection for victims of a fire in Switzerland, and donation of hygiene products: so many initiatives illustrating the solidarity commitment of the commune. SUPPORT FOR THE VICTIMS OF CRANS MONTANA The CCAS thus benefited from an exceptional donation of 20 food bags from the Banque Alimentaire. This aid was distributed to people in situations of great precarity, following assessment by social sector professionals, in order to guarantee targeted support for the most vulnerable groups.
Composed of essential products, these bags allowed their beneficiaries to get through this festive period in more dignified and peaceful conditions, while contributing to the fight against food insecurity.
Solidarity was also expressed beyond borders. As part of an international action initiated by Audrey Ody, a member of the Crans Montana Solidarité association, the CCAS mobilized to support the victims of the fire that occurred in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, which caused dozens of serious injuries and 41 deaths. Furthermore, the commune's hairdressing professionals were called upon for a hair collection destined for the creation of wigs for burn victims, carried out free of charge by an Italian wigmaker partnering in the operation.
The donations were centralized by the CCAS before being forwarded to the partner, highlighting the commitment of each participating salon. Finally, the CCAS thanks all the professionals (Made in coiff, Salon Michel, Cut By Faustine, Rêve en couleur) who mobilized to bring concrete and human support to the victims of this tragedy.
Finally, the CCAS received a donation of essential hygiene products from the Planning Familial Varois. Soaps, sanitary protection, and daily toiletries were redistributed to people in precarious situations. A precious help in the face of a fundamental need that is still too often invisible.
Access to hygiene remains, indeed, a major challenge of dignity, health, and self-esteem, mainly for the most vulnerable populations.
