Var boosts middle school students' career guidance
On February 12, the collège Cousteau in La Garde buzzed with the rhythm of professional careers!
Nearly 400 students from 4ème and 3ème participated in the 3rd edition of the Forum des métiers, organized in partnership with the Ville de La Garde and the Structure Information Jeunesse (SIJ). 'This event aims to make career guidance more concrete for our young people,' explained Hélène Arnaud-Bill, mayor of La Garde. And it worked out rather well!
The Département was on the ground, with interactive workshops, to present the community's professions. Students were able to talk directly with staff about their missions in various areas: equipment, collective catering, and discover career opportunities within the departmental authority, particularly for jobs in high demand. The exchange sessions, in small groups of 15 students, allowed for instructive dialogue and personalized advice.
But that was not all! The Police nationale, Agricampus Var, GRETA, the lycées Golf Hôtel and Cisson, the Médiathèque municipale, the communication department of the Ville de La Garde, Cromology Tollens Zolpan, HLJ IMSAT, and many other partners were also there to inspire young people and show them the diversity of possible career paths in Var.
In short, an event that gave a real boost to middle school students' career guidance and certainly opened many doors for their future!
