The Club Makers, success of the budding inventors' workshop

This original initiative, led by a motivated team and supported by the library, blends creativity, technology, and a collaborative spirit for young and old alike. One Saturday morning a month, the place transforms into a real experimental laboratory. There you can find teenagers, adults, novices, or experts, all driven by the same desire: to create, learn, and share.

Karim, who started the project, describes the atmosphere in the club: "The Club Makers is above all a space where ideas take shape. Everyone can work on their projects, alone or in a team, using digital tools, 3D printers, and soon a laser cutter. The goal is to learn by experimenting, in a spirit of mutual aid and sharing knowledge.

It is a real laboratory where an idea can become a concrete object."

CREATIVE ATMOSPHERE The completed projects reflect this diversity: mini-drones, connected weather stations, Lego robots, home automation systems, converting old radios to Bluetooth, miniature railway networks, or even AI-powered assistants. Among the youngest, Rémi, 14, is already dreaming of a career in engineering: "I love the creative atmosphere of the club. Currently, I am developing a moisture sensor for plants to create an automatic watering system."

Bernard, a former SNCF engineer, puts his expertise to use for a fully automated miniature railway network, complete with train management, level crossings, lighting, and various sensors.

Christian, an electronics enthusiast, emphasizes the importance of the collective spirit: "What I appreciate most here is sharing and mutual aid. I am working on an automatic heating control system powered by solar panels."

With this diversity of participants and projects, the Club Makers of Le Pradet evokes the ingenuity of the famous "Géo Trouvetou": a place where curiosity stimulates invention and where everyone can bring their ideas to life.
