An elegant (and American) dance in the spotlight
Based in Le Pradet for three years, Natacha and Antonin, a passionate young couple, have brought a contagious energy around dance with them.
ELEGANT DANCE To share their enthusiasm and introduce this dance, which still gets little media coverage, they founded the association ADN Swing. Experienced dancers and competitors, Natacha and Antonin regularly participate in events in Europe, where they pass on their expertise and passion. The next must-attend event is MED'IN SWING, which will take place in La Londe-les-Maures from May 7 to 10, offering the public a chance to discover this elegant and modern dance, born in the 1950s.
West Coast Swing is an American partner dance derived from Lindy Hop and swing. It is characterized by its contemporary style, fluidity, and wide musical variety: blues, jazz, R&B, pop, and even hip-hop. The essence of this dance lies in the connection between partners and improvisation.
The leader guides the choreography while the follower has significant creative freedom, allowing each to express their musical interpretation. The movements, often smooth and stylized, make West Coast Swing a discipline that is both technical and fun, highly popular in modern swing dance nights.
Starting next September, the association will offer classes every Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Espace Jeunesse. Classes are open to everyone, from beginners to experienced dancers.
Le West Coast Swing est une danse de couple américaine, issue du Lindy Hop et du swing. Elle se caractérise par son style contemporain, sa fluidité et sa grande variété musicale : blues, jazz, R’n’B, pop, et même hip-hop. L’essence de cette danse réside dans la connexion entre les partenaires et l’improvisation. Le leader guide la chorégraphie tandis que le follower dispose d’une liberté créative importante, permettant à chacun d’exprimer son interprétation musicale. Les mouvements, souvent doux et stylisés, font du West Coast Swing une discipline à la fois technique et ludique, très prisée dans les soirées swing modernes. À partir de septembre prochain, l’association proposera des cours tous les mardis, de 19h à 22h, à l’Espace Jeunesse. Les cours sont ouverts à tous, du débutant au danseur confirmé.
