Costebelle high school students trained in security professions
24 students from the Bac Pro Métiers de la Sécurité of Lycée de Costebelle were rewarded after advanced first aid training.
The commitment and hard work of the eleventh-grade students of the Baccalauréat professionnel Métiers de la Sécurité of Lycée de Costebelle were praised during an official ceremony. At the end of a demanding training program focused on first aid, these young people received tangible recognition from the institutions that supervised them.
COMMITMENT Organized within the naval aviation tradition space of Hyères, the ceremony honored the 24 high school students. To mark their involvement, the Réserve Jeunesse department of the groupement de gendarmerie du Var presented them with complete first-aid kits. This initiative, carried out in partnership with the Plateforme Médicale de Cuers, was enhanced by the presence of Adjudant Nicolas Moulin, departmental recruitment coordinator, and Constance, a young cadet of the gendarmerie from the class of 2025.
The presence of the latter symbolizes the continuity of young people's commitment to the security forces.
This award crowns a particularly intensive training curriculum, designed to immerse students in the heart of the reality of security professions. The program began with a two-week internship with the gendarmerie. During this first phase, the high school students, some of whom already had experience as cadets of the gendarmerie, discovered the fundamentals of vocational training, from intervention techniques to the theoretical and ethical aspects of the profession.
This initial module is directly inspired by the training provided to reservists of the gendarmerie.
Secondly, the students continued their learning with a two-week immersion at the Base d'Aéronautique Navale (BAN) de Hyères. Supervised by the navy firefighters, they underwent intensive basic first aid training, aimed at obtaining level 1 (PSE1) and level 2 (PSE2) team rescue diplomas.
PROFESSIONAL FUTURE Obtaining PSE1 and PSE2 certifications represents an asset for these future professionals. These qualifications are highly sought after and constitute an essential prerequisite for accessing many careers. They pave the way for jobs such as firefighter, navy firefighter, beach lifeguard during the summer season, or various assistance roles in the medical and paramedical sector.
Through this joint action, the gendarmerie, the Marine nationale, and the Lycée de Costebelle wished not only to value the commitment of these young people but also to provide them with concrete and certified skills. They are thus preparing them to enter essential professions dedicated to the service and protection of the population.
