A new board to prepare for the 50th anniversary
After ten years as president, Yves Boyer handed over to Christophe Cavaillès at the head of the Amicale des anciens artilleurs.
During a general meeting filled with emotion and prospects for the future, the Amicale hyéroise des Anciens des 54ème et 405ème Régiments d'Artillerie turned a page of its history. Yves Boyer, the emblematic president for the past decade, passed the torch to a new leadership team. This change of governance was carefully considered.
"I wish to step down in order to make way for a younger team. They will have to continue the work accomplished and prepare for the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Amicale in 2028," confided Yves Boyer. The year 2025 was thus dedicated to an organized transition which, according to the members, took place under the best conditions.
ROBUST HEALTH Far from losing momentum, the Amicale displays robust health and positive dynamics. As of December 31 last year, it had 153 members. Thanks to the co-optation of twenty-one new members, and despite a few departures and removals, the membership stands at 171, testifying to its attractiveness and the vitality of the bonds uniting the former artillerymen.
At the end of the general meeting, the board of directors elected its new committee. Christophe Cavaillès now assumes the presidency. He will be supported by Pascal Mercier as treasurer, succeeding Alain Rivière, and by Thierry Huet as secretary, taking over from Jean-Claude Bion.
The committee, composed of fourteen members in accordance with the bylaws, is therefore up and running.
The new president paid warm tribute to his predecessors while looking to the future: "Jean-Claude and Alain were the linchpins and Yves knew how to guide the Amicale, I will try to do just as well." To maintain cohesion and sharing, the new committee unveiled a busy schedule. Among the projects are the development of communication and the integration of new sections of former battery members.
The members will meet in May for an outing to Carnoules including a trip aboard the train des Pignes, followed by a convivial lunch. A country-style day is also scheduled (June 20) as well as a cohesion day centered around a boules competition and a plancha. An autumn cocktail party and the traditional Sainte-Barbe meal in December will close this year of renewal.
In recognition of his commitment, a gift was presented to Yves Boyer, who was appointed honorary president of the association.
