A partnership to pass on history to younger generations
The Maison du Combattant de Toulon and the Association des Collectionneurs pour la Sauvegarde du Patrimoine de la Maréchaussée à la Gendarmerie (ACSPMG)...

This commitment, sealed ahead of the general assembly of the Maison du Combattant, formalizes a shared desire to strengthen and perpetuate actions to transmit history and Republican values. The ACSPMG, a signatory of the charter of associations within the direction générale de la Gendarmerie nationale, brings its expertise and unique collections to promote a shared heritage. "This collaboration is part of a broader effort to preserve and bring to life the rich local associative and patriotic heritage, highlighting shared commitments to the duty of remembrance and citizenship. The goal is to build strong bridges between the past, present, and future, making history accessible and alive for all audiences," explains Nicolas Moulin, president of the ACSPMG.
VALUED HERITAGE

This partnership is not limited to a simple declaration of intent. It translates into concrete achievements for the general public. The first concerns the creation of a display case dedicated to the history and heritage of the gendarmerie, which will be installed in the Maison du Combattant. "This space of tradition, which will be the fifth of its kind in the Var, aims to introduce visitors to a portion of the collections and archives of the Gendarmerie nationale, illustrating its evolution and role over the centuries. Alongside this museum initiative, the collaboration has enriched the library of the Maison du Combattant thanks to several donations of reference works dedicated to the history and missions of the gendarmerie, thus offering new documentary resources to enthusiasts and researchers," continues Nicolas Moulin. Beyond the heritage dimension, the agreement emphasizes younger generations. It strengthens the close ties between the Maison du Combattant and the Service réserve jeunesse. The active involvement of the cadets of the gendarmerie is one of the pillars of this direction, aiming to make young people active participants in remembrance rather than mere spectators. In this context, several educational and citizenship initiatives are being developed. One of the most symbolic is the training of young flag-bearers. This strong commitment contributes not only to perpetuating the symbols of the Republic during official ceremonies, but also and above all to transmitting to the youngest the deep sense of honor, respect, commitment, and collective memory. "With this partnership, the ACSPMG and the Maison du Combattant de Toulon strongly reaffirm their shared ambition to bring heritage to life, strengthen intergenerational bonds, and ensure the sustainability of the civic and patriotic values that underpin national cohesion," concludes the president of the ACSPMG. •
