La Foire aux Plants celebrated spring
On April 12, La Ville welcomed spring on the occasion of its traditional La Foire aux Plants.
Around forty horticulturists, nursery gardeners, and market gardeners gathered to share their expertise and offer a wide selection of plants: potted plants, shrubs, trees, seeds, and vegetable plants. Visitors were also able to benefit from personalized advice to ensure the success of their plantings.
Throughout the day, numerous creative workshops allowed both young and old to let their imaginations run wild: making mini-herbariums, lucky charms, dried flower wreaths, and plant frames. These activities were offered by the associations So Naturelle, Natur' Emma, and Charli Rencontres Créatives.
The musical atmosphere was not left out thanks to the presence of the group "Bâton Rouge", which offered the public a journey to the heart of Nouvelle-Orléans through iconic jazz standards.
The stand of the service des espaces verts was a great success with residents. The staff shared tips and advice for garden landscaping and maintenance, while distributing beneficial garden organisms to help fight pests.
Finally, several structures committed to environmental awareness were present. The Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux (LPO) offered an exhibition and advice on preserving local wildlife, while the SITTOMAT conducted awareness campaigns on waste recovery and composting.
