An inspiring day of inclusion
On April 15, Espace Pierre-Bel buzzed like a beehive for the second edition of the Journée de l’inclusion organized by the Ville.
After a particularly successful first edition, the Service Petite enfance worked on a renewed program, full of tips, capable of sharing the experiences of various actors. More than 200 people thus responded to the call to exchange views on actions to be implemented from the first 1000 days of the child in order to foster an inclusive welcome and more effective support, by uniting audiences, actors and harmonizing languages.
CHALLENGES Despite clear progress made, challenges do indeed remain: how can we reconcile inclusion and educational excellence? How to effectively train professionals? How to involve families and communities? These complex questions recall the need for a global approach, combining education, health and social action.
And it is precisely this complexity that the journée de l'inclusion addresses with dynamism, inventiveness and benevolence. Each of these presentation times and each of these round tables was indeed designed with a clear objective: to offer concrete examples and practical tips coming directly from field experiments and transposable to other structures. In this dynamic, presentations and round tables notably allowed participants to discover the COCON pathway (monitoring and early care of vulnerable children aged 0 to 5), the Service d'Éducation et d'Enseignement Spécialisé, the CANOPÉ network (teacher training), how families are partners in the inclusion pathway, or even Alternative and Augmentative Communication.
INTELLIGENCE The different aspects linked to inclusion were thus addressed (educational, social and economic). Educational, by guaranteeing every child equitable access to quality education adapted to their specific needs, in order to foster their cognitive, social and emotional development. Social, with a fight against discrimination and stereotypes from an early age which promotes cohesion.
Economic, with the preparation of a fairer and more productive society, where everyone can contribute according to their abilities.
In this regard, special mention goes to the Association Pour l'Inclusion et l'Insertion par la Cuisine (A. P. I. I. C.), present on the big day in the kitchen, with its team composed of people with disabilities and volunteers.
In short, a day rich in learning, which called upon collective intelligence and team spirit and successfully convinced the participants interviewed. Like Sabryna, (mother of a young girl with severe dysphasia) who found that this day allowed her to "get out of isolation, by supporting the associations mobilized daily". Or even Marie-Claire, who came from La Ciotat, who appreciated the possibility of harmonizing languages and procedures between actors.
