A tribute to human dignity in the face of barbarism

On the occasion of the National Day of Remembrance of the Victims and Heroes of Deportation, the parliamentarian took part in ceremonies organized in the municipalities of Le Pradet and Hyères. He paid a solemn tribute to all those who were deported and perished in Nazi concentration and extermination camps during the Second World War. For the MP, these moments of reflection are fundamental for national cohesion: 'They strongly remind us of the scale of horror and barbarism into which humanity can sink when fundamental values are abandoned.'

DIGNITY AND RESISTANCE These commemorations are 'an opportunity to honor the courage, dignity, and resistance of those who, in the darkest hours of our history, refused to give in'. He emphasized the fate of millions of victims, torn from their daily lives and confronted with unspeakable violence. 'Let us never forget these women, men, and children, torn from their land, their families, their lives, and plunged into total inhumanity,' he continued, describing their memory as a 'precious legacy that binds us morally and collectively.'

In the face of the uncertainties of the contemporary world, the national representative called for a renewed commitment to passing on History. 'I consider it an essential responsibility to transmit this past to younger generations, without any alteration. We have a duty to keep their memory alive, to pass it on faithfully, without ever watering it down or forgetting it.'
