20 years serving women's artistic creation
From May 7 to 10, the salle Gérard Philipe in La Garde hosted the Talents de Femmes 83 exhibition, an essential cultural event in the Var.
For more than twenty years, the association has worked with conviction to promote women's artistic creation and to offer female artists a space of visibility, expression and recognition. The 2026 edition was once again a great success. "In a cultural landscape where women still sometimes remain underrepresented, Talents de Femmes 83 defends a clear ambition: to allow female artists to be seen, heard and supported in their artistic journey. The exhibition was born from this desire to create an exhibition space, both demanding and supportive, where female creators can present their work in professional conditions, meet the public and exchange with other artists," explained president Yvette Chalaye.
SPRINGBOARD
Over the years, the association has established itself as an artistic springboard. It encourages women to leave their studios to occupy public spaces, supports the professionalization of their careers, and promotes unique and ambitious approaches. Artists are invited to explore bold formats, mixed media, and contemporary forms that demonstrate the richness and diversity of current female creation. Each edition brings together varied artistic worlds: painting, drawing, engraving, photography, sculpture, installations, or even experimental works. This diversity is the exhibition's strength and reflects the dynamism of the contemporary female art scene. Beyond the exhibition, Talents de Femmes 83 La Garde is also a space for transmission and encounters. For some participants, the exhibition represents a decisive step: daring to show their work, asserting their uniqueness, and gaining visibility with the public and cultural partners. The awards contribute to this recognition by encouraging artists to pursue their creative approach.
The list of award winners honored several artists for the quality and originality of their work:
• Painting Award: Gisèle LABRAT. • Works on Paper Award: Paule FORNER. • Unique Works and Materials Award: Judit STOWE.
• Volume Award: Bénédicte Le MOIGNE-GRIJOL.
• Coup de Cœur Award from Crédit Agricole, partner of the event: Patricia CAROFF. • Public Award: Mme MONNELY.
