Var celebrated the liberators of France

In Toulon as elsewhere in the department (our photos in La Garde, La Valette, Le Pradet, Le Lavandou and Hyères), the celebrations brought together civil and military authorities, veterans' associations and the general public for an essential duty of remembrance. In Toulon, the ceremony was presided over by the Prefect of Var, marking the commitment of the State to the transmission of the values of the Republic. The Prefect of Var read the message from the Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans, recalling the meaning of this anniversary and the importance of the sacrifice of the fighters for freedom. The morning ended with a wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial, in tribute to all those who fell for France. A key moment of the celebrations was dedicated to youth and intergenerational transmission. •
