FRESCO

Among the treasures of the fort, a unique fresco created by the talented painter Georges Henri Pescadère captivated everyone's attention. Currently undergoing restoration, this heritage work was the subject of detailed explanations regarding the preservation techniques used to restore its former glory. The strong interest shown by visitors in this meticulous work illustrates the shared desire to sustainably safeguard the artistic and historical riches of the local heritage. The success of this initiative is based on the joint commitment of several local actors. Under the impetus of the association "Les Amis du Fort du Grand Saint-Antoine", numerous partners mobilized, including the ACSPMG (Histoire et patrimoine de la Gendarmerie), the association "Des Ailes et des toiles", "Les Amis des sous-mariniers", and the GMC de La Seyne-sur-Mer. Their presence and testimonies were essential in bringing the site to life and enriching the visitor experience. This synergy demonstrated the crucial role of local associations in promoting and passing down local history to younger generations. In light of this success, the organizers are considering repeating this heritage event, which was appreciated by all.
